11 May 2013 - The UK-based specialist app developer, Special iApps, has released a new version of its popular Special Words app, compatible with Android devices. The Special Words app can be used to support the teaching of vocabulary and sight word reading, and is supplied with pictures and vocabulary from DSE’s See and Learn Language and Reading programme. 16 Jan 2013 - DSE's new reading and language intervention for children with Down syndrome is now shipping in the US. The Reading and Language Intervention for Children with Down Syndrome (RLI) is designed to teach key reading and language skills to children with Down syndrome and was found to be more effective than ordinary literacy instruction in a randomized controlled trial in the UK.
